Music is definitely one of my passions, and so is the environment. That's why I was interested to hear about the 1% for the Planet Music Fundraising Campaign.
It's billed as "Quite possibly the most important album ever made." That's a pretty bold statement considering what "We Are The World" did for Africa in the 80s.
The quick summary of 1% for the Planet is it's a growing global movement of over 1,100 member companies, small and large, that donate 1% of their sales to environmental organizations worldwide.
Here is more info on 1% for the Planet and what it's all about:
THE ALBUM
- Tagline: Help rockstars save the planet.
- 1% for the Planet: The Music, Vol. 1 is a one-of-a-kind music compilation. Over forty artists have donated rare or exclusive music to produce the first album dedicated to supporting the environment.

While reading your post I've thought that music should also be eco-friendly - some styles of music remind noise and really pollute our environment.

Most important album ever? Yeah right. This is the first time I ever heard of it. I mean, it's a great cause, but they need more publicity.

I must admit, this was my first thought - if it's going to be so big why haven't we heard of it? I too commend the idea, but having checked out the playlist it's not very impressive IMO.
