So today is a wimpy post since I have to run (and I couldn't post earlier since the server was down *shakes fist*), but I didn't want to not post today! It's my 2-year anniversary with Andrew (we've been together 8, married 2), and, unfortunately, it's nasty outside. I have been waiting for a decent weather day for what feels like forever, but today it's raining. When will the nice fall weather come? WHEN?!?
Anyway, since I have to make this short, I wanted to share some links that I found interesting.
Adult Internet Users: Apple Is Most Eco-Friendly Consumer Technology Brand - Just another reason to love my Macbook Pro
UV light fear over 'green' bulbs - "Being too close to energy-saving light bulbs could cause skin reddening because of ultraviolet light emissions, health experts have warned. [...] But it added there is no evidence that such bulbs pose a cancer threat."
You Say You're Eco-Friendly, But Is Your PC? - "A standard-issue PC, left on all the time (a not-uncommon situation) consumes 746 kilowatts per hour a year, according to estimates from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. By comparison, a refrigerator uses about 500 kilowatts a year. Surely there are things that users can do to reduce their computer's environmental footprint."
FruitaBü Rolls Giveaway! - Basically organic fruit roll-ups, will have 5 winners
Win an Evenflo Symphony All In One Car Seat! - Not a green contest, but the prize is such a great one (a $199 car seat) that it's something I feel should be promoted!
Also, stay tuned for more contests here. There are currently two in the planning stages that should be coming soon!
