This entry is part 3 of 3 in the series 360 Vodka

I'm a little late with the write up on this, but I've been so busy I just haven't had a chance to do the story justice (and probably still won't now!). I'm sure you all remember the 2 posts I wrote about 360 Vodka (here and here). I have to say, I'm loving this company more and more (and not just because they sent me free stuff! :) ). In June, the 2008 Independent Handbag Designer Awards™ took place, and the winner was a handbag made of 100% recycled materials, pictured below.

So, you wonder, what does that have to do with 360 Vodka? The company is teaming up with the designer of the handbag, Helen Marcoschamer of Ecoist, to design another recycled handbag. This one will be created using the raw materials from 360 Vodka's billboard in Times Square. Pretty cool, right?

“It is an exciting opportunity for us to partner with such a talented designer,” said Vic Morrison, Vice President of Marketing for McCormick Distilling. “She will be able to take the materials from our billboard and create something extraordinary and wearable. Sustainability is what our company is all about, and in this case it’s nice to see our efforts come full circle in this way.”

  1. Gotta love free stuff. Especially when it's Green! So, you can feel good about it every time you use it now. I love when companies go out of their way to make things better for the planet as well.

  2. Really cool! :D

Gorgeous tote bag. Perfect for a day at the beach! It's so wonderful to see more and more creative people incorporating recycled materials in their products.

  3. I love these ideas for recycled bags! just the other day I visited my son's future school which he starts in Aldershot Hampshire this year and one of the classes projects for this year was to design and make a recycled/re-usable bag.
Its nice to see the schools are educating children in this manner,I think everyone should take this on board and follow their lead!

  4. That is really awesome. I'm glad to see the company does a lot of environmentally friendly and useful things.

  5. Digital Signage, I definitely do love free green stuff!!

Jopie, I only wish I were as creative as some of these people! You should check out recycled stuff on etsy, there are some amazing things!

Aldershot, that sounds like an awesome project! I wish they had done more projects like that when I was in school!

A.eye, isn't it? More companies should take part in projects like this.

  6. Ecoist has excellent products. We have 2 of their bags and love them. Very unique and always attract attention (positive attention).
