A 200 year-old tradition from mystical Bahia, Brazil, "Brazilets" are worn throughout Latin America and provide a spiritual significance for all who wear them. Wrap Brazilets around your wrist and tie three knots, making a wish with each knot. When your Brazilets naturally break down and fall off, it is believed that your three wishes will come true.
A neat concept, and apparently one that has survived the test of time! Brazilets come in a variety of colors and each bracelet has writing on it that says "In remembrance of our patron saint good luck in life." Each Brazilet comes with two cards attached to it, one with the description and directions, and the other with three lines to write down your three wishes. It is also believed that, along with your three wishes coming true, Brazilets will bring you good luck.
Brazilets supports Plant a Billion Trees by dedicating 20% of all proceeds to the cause. Plantabillion.com is dedicated to planting one billion trees in the Atlantic Forest - the most endangered forest in Brazil.

Wearing wishes on your sleeves literally has a poetic feel to it. The fact that part of the proceeds goes to a good cause only adds to fancifulness of this project and leaves only good feelings. I love the idea and thank you very much for bringing "Brazilets" to our attention.

This sounds like a nice local tradition making those brazilets even more interesting. Wearing wishes with you is something worth trying and surely won't do any harm to anyone!

I wonder if they come with little crystals tied in. Tigers Eye or Agate bracelets...for example. That might put more "power" into your wishes

I think it's more about affirmation.
