I found many ads that are not only saddening, but very disturbing. They're the sort of things you wish you hadn't seen, but are glad that you did, because they made you more aware. Does that make sense? They are definitely the ads that scream in your face to pay attention to what we are doing to our planet. Today I am going to post some of the ads that I found to be most clever. Part of me feels that I should post the upsetting ads, as well, because they are also clever in getting their message across (which, believe me, they do), but I will leave it up to you to view them if you want (many can be found here, most created by WWF and Greenpeace).
So as to not overwhelm your internet connections, I am putting up smaller versions here. To view the full size, click the image, and it will show up in a lightview. To close the large view, scroll to the bottom of the image and click "close."
One of my favorites *evil grin* The other ad for this campaign can be seen here.
This is the one I saw that made me want to create this post.
For the other lightswitch ad used by the Global Environment Centre, click here.
There are more ads in this campaign with different animals, but these two are my favorite. The others include a tiger, an eagle, toukan, and a zebra.
The other ad of this campaign can be seen here.
The other ads in this campaign include plastic bags, co2, and bulb.
To put beach pollution into perspective, trash was collected from various beaches, packaged to look like seafood and displayed at local farmers' markets. This ad is called "Condom strips." Other ads in this campaign include Plastic surprise, Styrofoam bites, Condo loaf, Private beach mix, Aerosol valu-pack, and Butts-n-bits.
Be sure to look at the full size of this one.
The other ads in this campaign include anteater, penguin, and mongoose.
Others in this campaign include blonde and guy.
Others in this campaign include fish and tree.

Thanks for this great selection of ads.
Advertising is playing and will play an even bigger roll in the efforts of greening the market.
The market is responsible for the environment since it profits from natural resources, and the market can be changed from inside, we can do it, we must.
Let´s grow green

What worries me is the increasing number of companies that seem to be marketing toward the eco-friendly only to make money off of the idea. I hope they are doing it because they actually care, but I can't help but think it's mostly for the money...
