Welcome to the June 30 (or should I say July 1?), 2008 edition of All Things Eco.
Be sure to Stumble the posts you like, or submit them to other social bookmarking services. Let's promote each other, as well as this blog carnival, because I want to see more posts coming in!
I apologize (!) for getting this up so late. I am visiting family in Connecticut, and couldn't access my email. My computer has no dial up modem in it, and their DSL was supposed to be installed last week, but the modem/router didn't show up until today. I have to run shortly, and haven't had a chance to visit all the articles in today's carnival (outside of making sure they fit the topic), but I promise that I will read (and Stumble) the posts ASAP.
Mark Babineaux presents How do I make my home more efficient? posted at Progressive living, become conscious.
Mother Hen presents Down the Drain and Battling the Flea Circus posted at Ship Full O' Pirates.
Christine Reed presents BlissChick: EcoBliss: Urban Living is Smart Living posted at BlissChick.
Lane Wright presents Favorite Quinoa Recipes posted at Vegan Bits.
Sagar Satapathy presents 50 Ways to Go Green in the Classroom posted at Teaching Tips.
Jamie McIntosh presents Control Carpenter Bees posted at Suite101: Organic Gardens blog. Jamie says, "No one likes carpenter bees drilling into their decks and homes. However, these insects have an important role in your organic garden."
Julena presents Strange Days on Planet Earth and Your Makeup Kit posted at Organic Makeup and Skin Care. Julena says, "Can chemicals in tiniest doses be even more harmful then larger doses? And did you know that "chemical cocktails" are more dangerous than the ingredients on their own? And that we know next to nothing about the combinations men created?"
Louise Manning presents LA turns to rainmakers posted at The Human Imprint.
Walter Jessen presents The Upside of High Food Prices posted at Highlight HEALTH. Walter says, "As the price at the gas pump continues to climb, so does the cost of diary, grain and meat products. However, there is a healthy upside to the increasing cost of food."
Danny Dagan presents How long does it take a plastic bag to break down or a glass bottle to decompose? | That Danny! posted at That Danny!. Danny says, "How long does it take a plastic bag to break down or a glass bottle to decompose? What about a milk carton or a Styrofoam cup? This article covers various information sources and what they say."
Steve Snyder (SocraticGadfly) presents Take James Hansen one step further on carbon taxes posted at SocraticGadfly. Steve says, "How we should take James Hansen's carbon tax idea another step further."
Frugal Babe presents A Solar Oven posted at Frugal Babe.
Cheryline Lawson presents What is hypermiling posted at Hypermilling - Saving on gas price. Cheryline says, "Hypermiling is one of the gas saving techniques that people are exploring to put money back in their pockets."
Matt Johnson presents Product Review: Seventh Generation Natural Laundry Detergent Powder posted at EnviroHumanImpact. Matt says, "We find that some of our most popular and useful posts are our product reviews of eco-friendly and supposedly eco-friendly products. Evaluating from both a functional and "Is it really green?" standpoint, our readers can find the best green products on the market."
Lucie & Amber presents lu-n-am: The No-Plastic Revolution continues.... posted at lu-n-am. Lucie and Amber say, "Our blog is oriented towards finding ways of living a more sustainable, affordable, creative, and green lifestyle. Hope you enjoy!"
Jenny presents Eco-Safe Candles for a Fresh Scented Home | The Inner Shopper and The Green Life posted at The Inner Shopper. Bri presents Land For The People - An eco community that encourages people to help conserve and preserve wild and natural land posted at landforthepeople.org. Bri says, "This article is on green cemeteries--a way to conserve land as well as promoting organic and sustainable environmental practices."
Wenchypoo presents House Bling on the Cheap posted at Wisdom From Wenchypoo's Mental Wastebasket. Wenchypoo says, "Not "green" per se, but a way to get those stainless steel appliances without having to buy all new ones--by using "appliance wraps" instead to cover your existing ones and upping the market value of your home."
That concludes this edition. Submit your blog article to the next edition of All Things Eco using our carnival submission form. Past posts and future hosts can be found on our blog carnival index page.
