February 5th's Tip
Taxes: It may only happen once a year, but considering everyone in the country is filing their taxes, the footprint of tax season can get pretty high - with tax paperwork, envelopes and stamps, the mailing process, checks, etc. Consider, if you can, filing your taxes electronically. You'll save on the paperwork for the taxes as well as the envelope and stamp, and if you get your refund deposited directly into your bank account, it will save another envelope, stamp, and check, as well as twice the shipping.
For this year, consider reducing your required paper transactions by accepting payments through PayPal and managing your bank accounts online.
We've been talking a lot about paper reduction, but it's one of the easier green steps to take, and it's also one of the most important!

Great tip. Any way we can reduce the amount of paper we use is huge. On top of just reducing the amount of paper we use, but you also get your return back faster.

I E-file every year and it can be completely paperless if you have all the required info on hand. You can then save your return as a PDF for future reference.

In my country, we e-File all our taxes. But for some reason, the tax authorities still like to send out multiple letters to remind everyone to file our taxes electronically, etc. After e-Filing, we get yet another letter informing us that we have successfully e-Filed our taxes.

I always file my taxes online -- not only is it green, it also makes things much easier. Especially with software like TurboTax.
