June 12th's Tip
Digital TVs: Unless you live in a cave, you probably know that today is the day that all television signals turn digital. This doesn't mean your TV will not work anymore if you use rabbit ears or an antenna, but it does mean you will have to take steps to make it work (buying a converter box or subscribing to cable or satellite service).
Some people are seeing this change as a reason to finally go buy a new TV, but don't let that make you forget about responsibly disposing of your old one. Just like with most electronics, TVs can be recycled, too.
Today's tip is a quickie because Adam at Twilight Earth has summed this topic up nicely. Visit his post on the digital changeover and what to do with your old TV at Twilight Earth for more information.

Love the eco tips. And you're right, people forget the TVs and PCs need to be disposed of properly and can be recycled.
If you get a chance, stop by my blog and enter my one year anniversary contest!

if replacing your tv remember to keep an eye out for symbols such as the EcoFlower label or energy saving trust labels and you'll be sure you'll get a new tv that consumes less energy than its counterparts.
Energy savings trust list on their sites appliances that meet its targets for being better for the environment http://www.energysavingtrust.org.uk/Compare-and-buy-products/Home-entertainment-consumer-electronics/Integrated-digital-TVs

Good to see that TV is turning digital over the pond - we've still got a few years before the analogue signals are completely turned off in the UK.
