Eco-Friendly Friday

September 4th's Tip

Veggies: Cooking up some veggies? Here are some tips to use less water.

steamer.jpgThe way to use the least water, of course, is to cook the veggies on a grill. And the best grill choice? Electric. No charcoal, no gas.

If you don't have a grill, the weather isn't cooperating for grilling, or the veggies just aren't the grilling type, try steaming your veggies instead of boiling them. You'll use a lot less water, and the veggies will taste better. Remember to leave the lid on to keep the steam in the pot.

  1. I agree completely. Steaming your veggies does use as little water as possible and doesn't use a lot of energy.
