March 20th's Tip
Paper Towel/Toiler Paper Tubes: Probably two of the easiest things to let slip when it comes to recycling... especially toilet paper tubes. I think it's because recycling is not on our minds while we're in the bathroom
Seriously, though, these are two things that can and should be recycled. Ideal Bite recommends stacking your t.p. tubes on the handle of your plunger until they are ready for recycling. You can also keep a separate basket/bin in the bathroom for the tubes. Same goes for paper towel tubes. One way to remember to recycle them is to stick them in the cabinet under your sink. This way, if you forget for a while, at least they won't get tossed into the garbage.
You can also make use of the tubes with creative reuse projects. See the resources listed below for some great ideas.

Loved your blog, concise, clear and useful. Love the tips for recycling rolls I knew that they could be reused but did not know exactly how.

Personally, I have heard of a lot of people using paper towels for bedding; never anything negative

Stacking the TP tubes on the plunger is a great idea...that is unless you actually have to use the plunger...and you forget to remove the TP tubes...and you have a HUGE gross mess on your hands (hopefully figuratively and not literally)...

Come people, how hard can it be to carry the tube to the recycling bin after using the bathroom.

I like to let my kids play with them for a while and then recycle them. Thanks for the additional links for good ideas!

I always forget the toilet paper role. It's so easy to throw it into the bin next to the toilet while I'm sitting there taking care of business. I'm going to try and just put them on the plunger from now on.

Really great ways to remember to recycle those paper and tp tubes. They are just so easy to throw away and having a basket for them makes it far easier to remember.
