March 13th's Tip

St. Patrick's Day: With St. Patrick's Day right around the corner, I'm sure a lot of people are thinking about beer (not me, yuck!). Organic beer is always an option, if you can find it in your stores, but how about supporting a local brewery?

Where we live, supporting a local brewery is as easy as driving down the street, basically. If you're not sure it's that easy for you, visit The Brewers Association to search for a brewery near you (this search is U.S. only). You might be surprised to find a brewery closer to you than you thought! You can even ask if they brew organic beer, if you are so inclined.

What's better than supporting your local economy, and maybe getting to try out some new beer?

The basics apply to any parties you might be having, too. Use reusable or biodegradable dinnerware, cups, etc. Use decorations you have from last year, and save any from this year. When I picture St. Patrick's Day decorations, cheap paper cut-outs come to mind... it doesn't have to be this way! Have some old green t-shirts? Cut out some shamrock shapes. You can also cut out shapes from empty cereal boxes and let your kids color them green. Use your imagination!

And remember to recycle those beer bottles.

Sajid and Organic Living, I don't like beer either. I would also prefer green tea :)

La Plagne, maybe it was just the brand you tried?
