February 27th's Tip
Composting: Real organic veggies need good organic fertilizer. One of the most natural and simple ways to produce the best fertilizer is to mix 1/3 kitchen compost with 1/3 dead leaves with 1/3 fresh manure, and this will give you a good all-purpose N-P-K mixture. Any manure works. Horse manure has been found to be a very good mix of nutrients. Compost needs to be stirred a couple times a week to work best. Over time, the heat from the composting will produce black, rich loam that will grow the best vegetables you ever tasted! - submitted by Glenn

i'm glad that you are getting the word out that compost isn't rocket science, i'm afraid in some gardening circles it's made to seem super scientific and that there is a special recipe that has to be followed or you won't end up with the magical compost. when in reality, just like your post says, it's really easy and that a basic formula will produce good compost. i must say though, be cautious about suggesting any manure will work - house pet's manure, such as cat and dog's should be avoided. especially if you are using the compost to grow veggies. and actually compost can be wonderful even leaving the manure completely out.

It is great to bring Composting to everyones attention.
I do however have a few points if that is okay.
You do NOT need to mix up the Compost. Granted it may work a little better but I would weigh that up against the extra work involved.
Also, I do disagree with Lisa (sorry). You can, and we do, compost Dog Poop. If the Compost heap works as it should then it is not dangerous once broken down. We have a compost toilet as well, so our waste goes on there as well!
Sorry if that grosses anyone out but it is more eco than wasting water and flushing it away with drinking quality water.
Sorry to blather on a bit and just my opinion.
Any composting that is done is much better than none.

I makes all the compost by myself and it's much better to buy it on the market, Stefanie!

Yes, we bought in market. Easy.
