Eco-Friendly Friday

August 1st's Tip

Lawn Watering: Today's tip comes from Eric at Real World Green in the form of a video.

For our RSS readers and those of you who can't get the video to load, Eric lets us know that the best time for watering our lawns is in the early morning. In the middle of the day, the sun will cause the water to evaporate before it can soak into the soil. Watering at night can cause fungus to grow. He also recommends a water timer for your sprinkler so you can set it and forget it.

  1. Great tips, this should be a regular feature. Of course being in Boston as soon as the grass grows the way I want it to, it's time for snow. Ah, well great tip!

  2. That's a pretty good tip. I guess my family's a little more efficient because we've taken out all the grass and replaced it with bricks. Lol.

  3. Boston, the tips are a regular feature, just not the tips from Eric Rochow. I did, actually, receive an email from him saying that I can post each of his tips here weekly, if I want. I'm thinking about it.

Maria, so you have no yard? I don't think I'd want that!

  4. Thanks so much for the tips. We live in Florida and this is helpful.

  5. Hello, this video was very useful for me. Thanks for the tips.
