Eco-Friendly Friday

September 12th's Tip

Laundry: Turn the wash on your machine to cold. Most laundry loads, with the exception of particularly greasy ones, don't need hot water, and all you end up doing is wasting energy. Ninety percent of the energy used in washing clothes goes towards heating the water.

  1. I have always washed in cold water and now have a much nicer energy efficient washer and dryer.

  2. It's pretty inexpensive now to buy energy efficient washers/dryers (and other appliances) today, which is good.
