Happy Birthday to Me!
First note, happy birthday to meOctober 3rd's Tip
Veg Out: October is National Vegetarian Month. Yeah! What does this have to do with being green? A lot. 18% of total greenhouse gases comes from animal production. If you cut just one serving of meat per week you will save 660 pounds of carbon emissions and 2,600 gallons of water. Anyone want to Veg Out with me this month? - Contributed by PattyContribute

Well, Happy Birthday! I did not know the exact stats about meat and the environment, though I did know the creation of grazing pasture was detrimental.
Lately, we've been doing our best to cut down on meat - both for the environment, and also for a longer life (hopefully!).

Happy (belated) Birthday !!! Another good reason to not eat meat, it's not only because of the animals. Producing meat isn't good for the planet either *gulp*

Happy belated birthday!! It's always great to celebrate YOUR day! I thought October was the month for Going Pink, but I guess there's no conflict with it being the month for vegetarians as well ^_^

I loved your posting promoting eating vegetarian. I've become more and more vegetarian as I've done the Master Cleanse (also known as the Lemonade Diet or Beyonce's maple syrup diet). I've noticed that others who do it (I've coached a couple thousand people on it so far.) also begin to naturally choose vegetarian food and even raw vegan food. There are several great books promoting becoming a vegetarian, such as The China Study, Fresh Fruits and Vegetables, and 12 Steps to Raw Foods.
Keep up the good work.

Peter, raw foods interest me, but I'm not sure I could be that dedicated!

I understand. What I've found is that doing the Master Cleanse helps remove cravings so people can eat a more healthy diet. It's not about will power, it's about knowledge. If you know what can help you, you don't have to rely on will power alone.
