Eco-Friendly Friday

November 21st's Tip

Thanksgiving: Turkey on Thanksgiving? Yeah, of course, go for it (and go organic if you possibly can). But if you really want to save the planet, lay off the meat for a couple of weeks after. And then promise yourself to only eat meat once or twice a week, or even better, save it for special occasions. - Contributed by Simon Lee

To find a local, organic turkey, check Local Harvest. If you plan on going veggie this Thanksgiving, consider tofurky or turk'y roast, which is soy free.

Sarah Palin's recent encounter at the turkey farm has left me without feeling the need for turkey this year. It's not like I did not know how turkeys were "sourced" but seeing it sort of makes we want to pardon a turkey myself.

Irish, wasn't that terrible? Just reason number 2345678 why I very much dislike her...
