This is the belief of dai Living, a company that creates rugs made of Pashmina wool. They partner with Rugmark for the cause of ending child slave labor in the rug industry. Their rugs are completely sustainable and handmade using vegetable dyes. A percentage of each rug sale directly funds education for children in weaving communities.

Nearly 300,000 children are exploited as child labor in the carpet industry. This has to end, and it will. RugMark is the international organization devoted to building the schools, programs and opportunities that give children back their childhood. It's working, from Pakistan to India to Nepal, and you can help. Dai Living's partnership with RugMark is your best assurance that no children were exploited in the manufacture of the carpet you're buying. Because an imported rug that was made using child labor is ugly no matter what it looks like.

I am, quite literally, drooling over all these rugs. My favorite is definitely the Swirl rug in 4 x 6, because it is neutral enough to fit lots of decor styles, but it still has some flair. Love it!

I live with my son and his family and my room is the only place I have to express who and what I am and the neutral wave rug would certainly make my room unique. Also I love very much that the makers of this rug are committed to ending child labor. I have 4 grandbabies and the idea that any of them or any child would be used a slave labor is totally repugnant

I think the Wave is gorgeous, but I'm not entirely sure where we could put in our house. In lieu of having it in our house, I could be a super generous SIL and give it to a family member who is expecting a little boy soon!! Or I could be selfish and just get the neutral wave for myself. I think it's incredible RugMark is helping to end child labor in the rug industry. This is the first time I have viewed these beautiful rugs. Keeping in mind what they stand for they are all beautiful. The 'grass' is especially unique.

"Nearly 300,000 children are exploited as child labor in the carpet industry." I DID NOT know that. We recently removed all of our wall-to-wall because the allergens it trapped bothered my daughter's asthma. I am in the market for area rugs and will definitely be buying dai living (and passing the info along to my friends and family). Thank you for the sweepstakes AND the information. I hope others pass along what they learned too!
As for the rug the Grass pattern is stunning. I love the way the colors blend.
