Fanimation, they probably could! I would like to see more gyms doing the same thing. It would definitely be an incentive to join.

That soudns like a great business model. If they hooked up all the machines to prodcue as much energy as they could. I bet they could power the whole building by themselves and solar. You just need some awesome machines.

Guru, I think there are a lot of people out there who are starting to stand up and do something. Unfortunately, sometimes it is hard to tell who is actually doing something to help, and who is doing something to profit.

Yeah...this is pretty worrisome. it'll have to take action from dedicated and serious minded individuals to make a stand though. people can't just watch and wait for things to happen. if people want change, the change would have to come from within, from the person himself, from the individual. atleast someone has to stand up and soon others will follow. every movement has started like this. strong willed and dedicated with the right mind set.

Guru, I think more people are starting to think like this, but it worries me the number of companies that are taking advantage of the green movement.

Genius! Simply genius. I hope more people will start thinking like this, that is to try make things eco friendly if not totally waste and pollution free. Not just with gyms but it should also be applied to everything possible, from food down to clothing.

Emma, that is true, but if you live where I do, the summers are too hot and the winters are too cold. I wouldn't mind running in the cold, really, but in the summer I can barely make it out to my car without getting dizzy from the heat and humidity. On many summer days, it is so hot and humid here that it literally steams the wrinkles out of your clothes. We don't even pull the iron out for most of the summer!

That is a good idea, but another option would be to just go for a run outside, it's free and good for the environment.
