Instead of just drinking chamomile tea, why not rely on chamomile extracts for your skin, as well? Chamomile is one of the oldest herbs, dating back to the ancient Egyptians. Chamomile tea helps calm the nervous system, but chamomile extracts can also help cool sunburn, relieve eczema, replenish dry skin, and revive aging skin.Info: The flowers of the chamomile plant contain high levels of an essential oil with bisabolol, which reduces inflammation, soothes irritation, and helps fight bacteria. They also contain apigenin, an antioxidant that also reduces inflammation and protects skin from damaging free radicals while helping to repair injured skin cells.
Note: Although rare, chamomile can cause allergic reactions in those sensitive to ragweed.
Come back tomorrow and Thursday for two more herbal skin relief tips!

Is there any advantage of Chamomile extract over aloe gel for sunburns?
Also where is the best place to buy Chamomile extract?
Thanks,
Kimberlie

Baby onesies,
I can't say if there's an advantage to chamomile over aloe, but a lot of sunburn/skin remedies contain both.
If you Google "chamomile extract" or "chamomile oil," you can get an idea of places that sell it. Here are some links to a few:

Chamomile, German Flower Extract Cert Organic
Chamomile Extract (Matricaria chamomilla)
German Chamomile in Jojoba Oil Essential Oil
Roman Chamomile in Jojoba Oil Essential Oil
Chamomile Moroccan Essential Oil
Those are just a few, Kalyx
is a great online shop for products like that. I also found chamomile-aloe toner on Etsy.
There are also some instructions online to make your own chamomile skin remedies (some using chamomile tea bags), so look into that, too.

This is a true fact, as I'm one of the persons that have the allergy to the ragweed and I cannot even getting closer with the Chamomile...
However, I do love the Lavender essential oil...

Wilson, lavender essential oil is great for your skin, too. It can be used for everything from acne, sunburn, bug bites and stings, cuts, psoriasis, and even as an insect repellent.

Oh, indeed!
Chamomile is sooooo good for the eyes, too. Teabags on the eyelids will help with the bagginess.
Also, if you smear my chamomile infused honey on your face, then wipe it off after about 10 minutes, you will have a much smoother and happier face!
You have a great blog here. I found you through Entrecard. Take care, and keep up the good work!

Thanks, Amber! I'll have to try the teabag idea, although my bigger problem is that my skin is so pale, I have dark circles whether there is puffiness or not! Chamomile infused honey sounds like a spa treatment... definitely have to try that one. I'd imagine it is good for dryness?

It is very moisturizing, and also helps remove blackheads!
It is also VERY YUMMY in a glass of hot tea.
Thanks for stopping by my blog - I'll definitely keep checking on yours.
