With summer here and the weather getting warmer and warmer, it's probably time for a new swimsuit. Well, what about an old new swimsuit? Da Vinci posted a video today on recycling a sweater into a dress, and it got me thinking about summer clothes and swimsuits... is there a way to recycle something into a swimsuit? Yep! This video shows you how to create a bikini out of a t-shirt (and it's created by the same girl who made the sweater dress, she has some great videos so be sure to check them out!).
Think about the possibilities with making your own swimsuit in this way. Different colors, patterns, embellishments... it can be completely unique! I would personally add some sort of lining to the swimsuit, but that is up to you! Check your local thrift store, they might have some of those workout shirts made from bathing suit type material, which I'm guessing would work for this project pretty well.

It's incredible how many things in our home we can reuse that we would normally ditch. This seems like a great money saver as bikini's are usually pretty expensive.

I showed the video to my 14-year old daughter and she loved it! I'm only worried that she won't have any T-shirts left by the end of the week

wow .. great video, but i think teens shouldn't try this thing just for fun. Though it could be very useful in time of need when you really need a costume such as an instant 'go for swimming' plan on a picnic party.
