Valentine's Day cards are overrated. Many people end up throwing them away, and if they aren't tossed in the trash, they end up stuffed in a box in a closet, forgotten.

But you want to express your love, right? What about an online tribute? Standard greeting card notes can sound cheesy, cliche, or just plain impersonal, but creating your own online tribute can say anything you want, and can highlight aspects of your loved one and your relationship in any way you want.

A perfect place to create on an online tribute would be somewhere like Myspace or Facebook. Add a playlist of your loved one's favorite songs, a bunch of pictures and memories from your relationship, and get all of your friends and family to leave comments about how great your loved one is. This can also be done on a personal website, if you have the tech savvy to set it up. You can even make it an ongoing record of fun times you and your loved one have together, publishing to it year-round.

  1. I don't do the valentine card thing I make them and am quite busy on the run up to valentines day so come the 14 that's the last thing i want to receive. There are quite a few people who have had the same idea on youtube and combined images, music and messages to create something unique.

  2. What an awesome idea!! I should get on that now! :) Thanks...

  3. Being a Facebook user for over 3 years, I found I can live without it in my daily life (Honestly, I recognized my girl friend from the FB)!
