Last week it was announced that a group of the Internets highly respected and viewed environmental websites have formed a partnership and become syndicated through a new start-up company called Simple Earth Media.
I had the opportunity to talk with one of the co-founders Adam Shake about what Simple Earth Media is and what this partnership means.
What is Simple Earth Media?
Simple Earth Media is an environmental blog network with five Websites underneath it and one Podcasting branch. Each one of our websites has been online for quite a while and are really "Stand Alone" sites with their own readers, fans, social media followers, twitter and Facebook Fan pages.
Our sites cover topics that run the range from Water Conservation and protection to EcoTech gadgets. Throw in some Anti-Coal Activism, Natural Parenting, Green Lifestyle and Climate Change news and journalism and you can start to get an idea about what Simple Earth Media is about.
Who is behind Simple Earth Media?
Simple Earth Media was Co-Founded Sean Daily and myself. We both realized early on that we had very different skill sets that would compliment each other from a business standpoint and at the same time, our passions for the environment, health and people were amazingly aligned.
Sean comes from an IT Tech and professional writing background and has been very successful in a number of different businesses, having started and sold a number of them. I come from an Operations Management background and was in the Military for over a decade.

When did you first conceive Simple Earth Media? When did it officially launch?
It was during a random conversation that Sean and I were having about how we could further our impact to make greater change and do more good in the world. That conversation ended with the thought that we should talk about how to work together sometime.
At the time, we were just thinking we we each wanted to do more. I see the world around me every day and am always asking myself how I can make a bigger difference. This was back in August and Simple Earth Media launched on November 9th.
Why did you and Sean want to create Simple Earth Media?
There is a force for change behind collaboration. We both realized that there are thousands of small voices out there. Thousands of website owners, freelance writers and activists who do great things every single day. But without collaboration, without help and without promotion, they are one voice.
By creating Simple Earth Media, our goal is to not only to bring our content to a larger audience, but to leverage the power of our network to promote, assist and help other website owners, writers and people who are actively engaged in making our world a better place.

Congratulations! What a great idea. This co-op is needed more at this time than any other. It is clearly going take a global effort to keep our planet from slowly dying from global warming and neglect. I will be taking a look at all the websites you listed. Keep up the good work. The message you are sending is an important one.
