Juice Beauty for Dry Skin

juicebeauty.jpgI noticed a few months ago that up close, you can see my makeup. I wear mineral makeup, which is in loose powder form, so it seems to accentuate any dry spots. Apparently, my skin is more dry than I had thought, even in the summers. So I started the search for a moisturizer. Harder than you might imagine! Finding a moisturizer isn't the problem, but finding one with natural ingredients, no parabens or other nasties, and from a company that doesn't test on animals... very difficult. Which is why I'm happy I started talking with Gwen from Beautorium.

Many of you will remember Beautorium - they sponsored a couple of the giveaways we've done here at Focus Organic. Gwen recommended a moisturizer that would work for my sensitive skin - Juice Beauty Oil Free Moisturizer - and sent me a bottle to try.

I started out with using the moisturizer every night after washing my face and every morning before putting makeup on. I think, in the summer, that was a little overkill for me, so I stopped using it at night and just continued pre-makeup. To confirm it was helping, I did up close inspections of my face with makeup on, and could barely tell I was wearing any. Good stuff!

I started to break out shortly after using the moisturizer, but I had also been trying another new product. I had a feeling it wasn't Juice Beauty, and as soon as I stopped using the other product, the breakouts also stopped.

Now that the air is getting more dry with fall here and winter on its way, I'm noticing the Juice Beauty isn't helping as much, but I'm also still only using it once a day, and think upping it to twice a day again will solve the problem.

Would I recommend Juice Beauty's moisturizer? Yes, definitely. After applying it, my skin has that healthy glow you normally see after a good night's rest. At $28 for a bottle, it is a bit pricey, but you don't need much, so the bottle lasts a loooong time.

Not only does it work, but it's organic, and contains no parabens, pesticides, petroleum, propylene or butylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulfates, no artificial dyes or synthetic fragrances and no phthalates.

From now until January 15th of next year, 25% of proceeds from select products at Beautorium, including some from Juice Beauty, will be donated to the North Jersey Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. Other brands contributing to the effort include Exuberance Beauty, John Masters Organics, Marina Cosmetics, Pangea Organics, red flower, Revolution Organics, Saaf, Sophyto and Trilogy, and Melvita Organics will join at the time of its US debut on November 9th. The Oil Free Moisturizer isn't included in this effort, but Juice Beauty's lightly tinted moisturizer is. To see all products included in the effort, visit here.

Sounds like my kind of moisturizer. I have noticed I need more help than I use to. Thank you for the review.

Nice a moisturizer. I'm sure my wife would love that. I will tell my wife about his. I will bookmark this.

How nice. I'm sure that's gonna be smooth to my wife's skin. ;)

It is really hard to only use organic products when you're a student in college, mainly because of prices. I just wish this kind of product was available around $10 instead of $28 so that it would actually fit in my very tight budget... oh well, time to keep looking for the most organic moisturizer at $10 or less.

I like your description of the products and I like much more the description of your own experience of using it! How much does it cost? I want to try this wonderful cream!

Seems like a great gift for an
eco-conscious friend of mine :)

This product sounds like a good way to moisturizer without exposing yourself to all the chemicals in beauty products.

Nice moisturizer,i will try it out.I hope it will give me a smooth skin. Thanks for the info.

Would be nice if more companies followed the example of Juice Beauty and made all-natural products. I only know of a few that do at the moment.

i have never tried this but i have used other juice beauty products and the quality is fantastic

Moisturizers are very important indeed. I know how people with oily skin tend to over dry their skin to cure pimples or what not but you have to understand that dry skin is bad as well. I will give this product a try. Thanks for your review.
