rosemist.jpgI talked before about a moisturizer I've been trying that helps a lot with my dry skin and the fact that I use mineral makeup. After putting on makeup, though, I can still use just a little bit of help. I had previously been using just water to set my makeup and make it look more natural - I'd spritz it on a flat makeup brush and stipple it on, and it worked well. Then I was offered to do some product reviews for Miessence from Erin Ely, and I saw that they have a hydrating mist, and I decided to give it a shot.

In Eastern traditions, the aroma of the Thousand-petaled Rose promotes strength and vitality enhances harmony and balance. Saturated with water-soluble botanicals present in the petals, rosewater has many uses. Spray over make-up for a dewy complexion. Perfect for rehydrating and invigorating your skin. Perfect for air-conditioned environments, such as offices and aircraft.

The main reason I wanted to try out this hydrating mist was to help give my skin a fresh, dewy glow. It did work very well in that respect, and it smells exactly as you would expect - just like roses. I can definitely see the potential for it to help relieve stress or calm your nerves, but I haven't tried it for that purpose yet.

To use the mist, you hold the bottle in front of you (directions say at arm's length) and spritz around your face. The best time for me to use the spray is after makeup, like I said. It doesn't mess up your makeup at all, instead it helps to set it and keep it looking natural.

I'm not usually a fan of the smell of flowers, but the smell of this mist is gentle and soothing. Overall, very refreshing, and if you enjoy the smell of roses, I think you'll like this mist.
