This is a good base for a pesto sauce that can be tweaked to make it how you like it. Veggies such as sun dried tomatoes and arugula can add some good flavor, and for the non-vegans, parmesan cheeses are another addition option. Make it with your favorite kind of pasta, and you've got a quick, easy dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. of your favorite pasta
  • 2 1/2 cups fresh basil leaves
  • 6 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1/3 cup pine nuts
  • 3 medium garlic cloves, minced
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Use food processor or blender to mix basil, olive oil, pine nuts, garlic, salt and pepper. Blend until a thick sauce.

Cook pasta as directed. Spoon sauce over pasta and serve.
