I have to admit, I am a pretty bad cook. I have been known to "burn water" in the past... twice, actually. I forget the pan is on and boil the water right out of it, burning the pan. I need recipes to survive, or the only foods we would ever eat would come from cans. A few of the recipes at house hubbies home cooking look absolutely delicious, and I felt the need to share some that I want to try. Norwegian Style Cucumber Dill Salad My mom would say she can't eat this, that cucumbers make her burp, but I personally love them and really want to try out this salad. Would it be weird to add tomatoes to it?

Brown Rice and Wheat Berry Pilaf The picture taken of this recipe is making me drool. I don't do shrimp, which is what House Hubbie made with the rice, but the zucchini on the side looks great.

Rhubarb

Rhubarb Bars I remember, as a kid, visiting a neighbor of ours who grew rhubarb in his backyard. He would cut us some and we would dip it in sugar... it was awesome! (This was also the neighbor who handed out warm apple cider on Halloween, a great addition to any Autumn evening in New England!) This recipe is one I have to try, if only for nostalgic reasons :)

  1. Wow... that brown rice and wheat berry pilaf looks awesome... I will be shopping for those ingredients this weekend! My grandma always used to make fresh rhubarb pie.

  3. Hi,

Thanks for linking to the recipes on my sight. I have been getting much more into organic and vegetarian cooking as my son is a vegetarian. I hope to continue to post vegan and vegetarian recipes. We have an organic garden in the back that I will be reporting on and hope to take a photo tour soon of the weekly green market at our county seat.

    Have Fun!
