Consider the shower. Consider your experience of a shower.
Is it merely a soapy, wash yourself clean tradition or more? It is what you make of it.
Do you want to wash your body or your whole being? Is it just an everyday task or is it a nourishing and sensual experience? For some, it is far from sensual. It is a chore. And for some others, it is the only tangible sensual experience they have in a day. Either way you dice it, it is an opportunity to connect. Your body, mind and soul have a chance to dance and nourish in a holistic moment of being yourself.
What would happen if you took that experience and extended it into every day life? Putting yourself out there, no matter how gentle the shower or mighty the storm? It is you, it is us and we have the opportunity, everyday, to extend ourselves beyond the comfort of our little homes and little boundaries. No matter what your religious or spiritual background, right now you have the opportunity to explore the bounty, the shower that is life. It is a gift. Moment to moment.
Take a moment to be present in your next shower or bath. Be grateful for the water, your body and mind, the shelter you have and the ability to take notice! Feel the wet. Feel the cleansing. Feel the solitude. It is a graceful time if you allow it to be.

I enjoy taking showers more than baths, and I know that in this way I also consume less water.

I really prefer to take a long hot bath, but environmentally they just ain't sound. We need to remember that all our actions on this planet can contribute to climate change and act accordingly.

I like showers, but I *love* baths! With lavender scented candles and my favorite music playing. After a long day at work, it's so relaxing and soothing.
I don't know what I'd do without them! But if it helps the planet, I'll go without baths and stick to the showers.

Thanks for the reminder about being present in every moment. Even tasks as mundane as showering can be a meditative zen moment to ourselves if we can change our perspective to see it that way

My showers are zen like. That is the one thing that I do at the end of the day which wraps up the day. It is the perfect ending.
