Surf Sweets, a candy company that creates naturally sweetened and organic, very yummy gummies and jelly beans (some are even veggie!), announced on Tuesday that for every new fan who joins its Facebook page in February, it will make a $1 donation to one of two charities: The Ocean Project and KaBOOM!
Donation amounts to be given to each charity will be determined by the community of fans who will vote in a Facebook poll to tell Surf Sweets which charity they would like to support.
The Ocean Project
The Ocean Project works with zoos, aquariums and museums to advance ocean conservation and help educate the millions of visitors on the importance of conserving our ocean planet. Their efforts helped create World Oceans Day, which is now recognized by the United Nations and celebrated world-wide on June 8. Learn more.
KaBOOM!
KaBOOM! is passionate about PLAY! They're striving to bring a great place to play within walking distance of every child in America. Their efforts have led to the creation of over 1,700 community built playgrounds, as well as inspired and taught countless individuals how to build or spruce up playspaces in their own communities. That will be some of the cheapest marketing they will have ever done. Very clever whilst being thoughtful at the same time. They will have a whole new audience to tap with facebook updates on the company and their products.
